Authorities from Puntland have revealed that an air raid that was carried out last night in the Miraale area of the Bari Region killed no fewer than 25 fighters of ISIS. This is in continuation of a successful counter-offensive by Puntland to rid its region of militant groups.
Airstrike by UAE on Invocation of Puntland Government
Puntland stated that the airstrike was conducted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 🇦🇪 with the full backing of the “Puntland Counter-Terrorism Operation.” It was said to be a targeted strike at the strategic command center used by ISIS militants. According to Puntland officials, the airstrike reportedly killed several top leaders of ISIS.
Puntland Forces Justllow operations-on-the-Ground
Tangentially to that, ground operations were performed by Puntland forces in Kalriyaad, Saax, and Madaah areas of Bari, where three crucial water wells vital for human habitation are located. Reports say that during these infractions, the Puntland forces bombed ISIS shelters and places to store supplies.
Military Ground Operations Operation
This airstrike and ground operations are said to have hit ISIS hard in Puntland, and particularly badi, where it has been a stronghold. In this way, ISIS transforms into a concentrated local operation.
The Puntland administration reiterated its commitment to fighting terrorism in the region and said it would beef up military operations aided by international partners.
This latest round of air strikes is believed to be a significant hard blow to the ISIS operation in Puntland, and the authorities vowed to continue their offensive until every last shred of the terrorist group is disbanded.
