The season-shattering news for Manchester United is that Diallo and Martínez are both going to miss the rest of the running season of 2024-2025.
An Injury to Amad Diallo
Amad Diallo suffered a ligament injury in his ankle while in training earlier this month. During the early assessment, it was suggested the injury wouldn’t keep him out for too long, but other assessments after that confirmed that he will be out for the season. The 22-year-old Ivorian has been an amazing addition to Manchester United in his time by scoring nine goals and racking up seven assists. His absence is really expected to dent the attacking options.
A Knee Injury for Lisandro Martínez
In another course, Lisandro Martínez suffered a full anterior cruciate ligament tear during the match against Crystal Palace. The injury came as a consequence of a challenge with Ismaïla Sarr, which caused Martínez to leave the pitch weeping. The Argentine defenders have been ruled to be out for six to eight months for this season. This will count as his third major injury after joining United from Ajax in 2022.
Injuries for the Team
In addition to multiple injuries Manchester United are holding, another very bad report comes in for manager Rúben Amorim with Kobbie Mainoo possibly going somewhere far with a calf strain and Manuel Ugarte still dangling after sustaining a knock in training. Luke Shaw’s return from being somewhat of a question as well due to his muscle recovery is also still under heated discussion.
Rest of the Way
Having big shoes to fill being without these players will be a hassle for Manchester United in the coming schedules. The depth of the team and the rounding edges will certainly come to the test, aiming to remain afloat in the domestic and European runs.
