Following successful operations by Puntland defense forces against Daesh militants in the Calmiskaad mountains, the Ministry of Information issued a serious warning to those in the area concerning the retreat of this group from Bari region.
The government has urged the public to be extra vigilant in case the fleeing terrorists attempt to hide into larger towns or rural areas. The public has also been encouraged to report suspicious activity to the police or security forces.
If the Daesh group retreats to an area within a 15-kilometer radius, there will be no place to hide because they will be in open places where military vehicles will have much easier access, said the minister of information.
Puntland’s government said these people are apparently working with the terrorists in spreading falsehoods about the ongoing operations and that investigations are taking place.
Once again the general public has been urged to provide their best support to the security agencies and defence forces in stopping any threats from the fleeing terrorists and re-establishing peace and stability in Puntland territories.
