President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has said that the federal government fully supports Puntland in fighting the ISIS-affiliated group operating in the mountains of Calmiskaad in Bari region. Speaking soon after the parliamentary session opened, he praised the work of the Puntland forces together with the local populace, highlighting that the government would spare no effort to secure a win in this fight.
Moreover, the president communicated that the government would soon appoint a particular committee of experts to assess the needs of the forces on the ground and promptly provide support. He emphasized that the fight against terrorism is a national endeavor that demands unity to defeat extremist threats.
Meanwhile, Ali Yusuf Ali Hoosh, the Minister of Interior and Reconciliation, stated that ISIS is a real danger to Somalia and urged stronger cooperation to eradicate the group. Meanwhile, the Federal Government has called upon all citizens to support the Puntland forces and efforts to rid the country of terrorist groups while restoring permanent peace and stability.
