Reports have it behind-the-door negotiations are in motion to allow the English defender to receive a huge pay rise which would likely classify him as one of the highest-paid defenders in world football.

Real Madrid Interested With an Initial Bid

At the time, on the winter transfer window of January 2025, Real Madrid had presented a £20 million offer for Alexander-Arnold. But this had been rejected by Liverpool, mainly because of their intention to keep him hoping for better standings in the Premier League and Champions League. Real Madrid remains upbeat for his signatures, either via a pre-contract arrangement or as a free agent in summer.

Potential Contract and Salary Proposals

In case of a transfer, Alexander-Arnold would ultimately nab a massive signing bonus, including the €128 million (£112 million) that Kylian Mbappé received when he had his Real Madrid deal. The proposed contract may also net him an annual salary of around €12.8 million (£11.2 million)-slightly more than £250,000 per week-breaking far above his current earnings at Liverpool underlining Madrid’s determination in his attraction as a right-back.

Liverpool Position with Alexander-Arnold’s Future

Liverpool remain keen on extending the contract of Alexander-Arnold to make him one of the cornerstone players of the team. However, Real Madrid’s offer appears lucrative to the 26-year-old. As of now, he has remained tight-lipped about a future that is still uncertain.
