La Liga filed a complaint against Real Madrid after the club sent a letter to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), protesting against refereeing decisions made lately. The letter sent after Real Madrid’s defeat by Espanyol accused referees of bias and called for a reform of the very referee system, including the release of VAR audio.
In turn, La Liga President Javier Tebas dismissed the letter where Real Madrid was accused of “falsehood” and of damaging competition integrity. Different clubs supported La Liga’s stance, with some urging RFEF to take legal action.
The whole matter has been made the subject of investigation, whereby further developments are expected to be seen over the coming days.
