In a surprising turn of events, Diario AS reports that Fede Valverde, a Real Madrid midfielder with a ton of versatility, may play in the right-back position during the upcoming Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid.
Valverde has exhibited a number of role-playing capabilities in midfield with much resilience on defense. And certainly, Valverde’s defensive work coupled with his acceleration, stamina, and strength are enough to suggest that he has an opportunity to play that right back role in those crucial encounters.
This would allow Real Madrid manager to introduce another string to his bow ahead of what should be an engaging two-legged duel against their city rivals.
